Maribel Guardia initiates legal action against Imelda Tuñón regarding the Julián Figueroa case
Renowned actress Maribel Guardia has filed a formal complaint with the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office against Imelda Tuñón, the widow of her late son, Julián Figueroa. This action follows controversial statements made by Tuñón regarding the administration of medication to the artist prior to his passing.
The legal conflict originated after Tuñón revealed on the Mesa Cero podcast that she attended psychiatric consultations where, according to her own testimony, she withheld information about her real symptoms to obtain controlled drugs that she later gave to Julián Figueroa, who suffered from anxiety and insomnia problems.

Lawyer Alfonso Beceiro, who represents Maribel Guardia, explained that the central objective of this complaint is for the authorities to determine whether there was an illegal acquisition and distribution of controlled substances. Likewise, the defense seeks to clarify whether these actions hold any type of criminal liability linked to the singer’s death.
This legal action is part of a hypothesis proposed by the defense and does not imply, as of yet, that the authorities have confirmed a direct link between the mentioned medications and the acute myocardial infarction that caused the death of Julián Figueroa.
