Intense immigration operations result in the detention of 1,284 foreigners in the country
The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) executed a massive deployment in various provinces of the Dominican Republic this September 24, achieving the detention of 1,284 foreigners in an irregular migratory situation. These operations are part of the permanent control protocols carried out by the institution to guarantee security and order in the national territory.
Dajabón leads arrest statistics
The official report details that the province of Dajabón positioned itself as the point with the highest incidence, recording 231 arrests. It is followed on the list by Santo Domingo with 219 cases and the province of Valverde with 143. The rest of the interventions were distributed across key demarcations such as Independencia (125), Montecristi (96), Elías Piña (78), Pedernales (78), Espaillat (53), and La Altagracia (51), among other locations.
Inter-institutional operation
The success of this day was possible thanks to the strategic coordination between the DGM and the State security forces. The distribution of operational support is detailed as follows:
- Agents of the General Directorate of Migration: 646 detentions.
- Dominican Republic Army: 392 detentions.
- National Police: 162 detentions.
- Specialized Corps for Land Border Security (Cesfront): 84 detentions.
Deportation processes in the border zone
As part of the established protocols, the authorities confirmed the deportation of 743 people through the various border control points. Dajabón once again led this figure with 472 deportations, followed by Jimaní with 117, Pedernales with 78, and Elías Piña with 76.
The General Directorate of Migration reaffirmed that these actions are part of an ongoing migration control plan, carried out in collaboration with military and police agencies to maintain strict compliance with immigration laws throughout the Dominican territory.
