Intense Migration operations result in the detention of 1,482 foreigners
The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) carried out a massive immigration interdiction operation throughout the Dominican territory, managing to detain 1,482 foreigners who were in an irregular migratory situation. These operations are part of the strategic actions executed by the agency to strengthen border control and ensure compliance with current regulations in the country.
Distribution of arrests by province
According to the official report, 53.23% of those detained, equivalent to 789 people, were located in key points such as Dajabón, Santo Domingo, Santiago, Valverde, and various locations in the Eastern region. The province of Dajabón recorded the highest figure with 210 apprehensions, followed by Santo Domingo with 163, Santiago with 145, and Valverde with 125 cases.
In the East region, the results were as follows:
- La Altagracia: 70 detainees
- San Pedro de Macorís: 38 detainees
- La Romana: 14 detainees
- Hato Mayor: 14 detainees
- El Seibo: 10 detainees
The deployment reached other strategic areas, including Elías Piña with 188 arrests, Independencia with 137, Pedernales with 81, Barahona with 46, La Vega with 44, as well as Puerto Plata and San Juan with 36 cases each.
Institutional collaboration in the operations
The success of this operation was possible thanks to inter-institutional coordination. The General Directorate of Migration led the actions with 749 direct detentions. For its part, the Dominican Republic Army contributed with 357 people, the National Police with 203, and the Specialized Land Border Security Corps (Cesfront) with 173 individuals intercepted in the border zone.
These actions are part of the migration control operations carried out by the DGM in different parts of the national territory to detect foreigners in an irregular migratory status.

Deportation process
As a direct result of these interventions, 484 foreigners were deported to Haiti through the four official border crossings. The breakdown of the repatriations was distributed as follows: 190 through Dajabón, 168 through Jimaní, 82 through Pedernales, and 44 through Elías Piña.
The institution reaffirmed that it will continue these deployments on a routine basis to ensure sovereignty and migratory order throughout the Dominican Republic.
