Simultaneous operations mark a new stage in the SeNaSa 2.0 investigation

From the early hours of this Friday, the Public Prosecutor’s Office launched a series of simultaneous raids as part of the expansion of the investigations known as SeNaSa 2.0. These interventions have been concentrated on the residences and private offices of more than 25 medical professionals, who are under the scrutiny of the authorities for their alleged link to irregularities in the management of resources.

Although the operations have generated great expectation, so far the authorities have not offered an official report confirming the exact number of detainees. The main objective of these deployments is to delve into the investigations to determine if there are additional structures or new participants involved in the scheme being investigated.

Scope of investigations

The investigation points to various sectors within the healthcare field, including the following actors:

  • Private clinics
  • Clinical laboratories
  • Diagnostic imaging centers
  • Service provider physicians

During the interventions, the prosecution agencies have proceeded with the seizure of documents, accounting records, and various electronic devices. It is expected that the analysis of this information will be key to strengthening the case file that is already in the hands of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Prosecution of Administrative Corruption (Pepca).

SENASA 2.0 begins, raids on doctors accused of profiting from the largest fraud against the public treasury of the Dominican Republic.

Julio de la Rosa Tiburcio, lawyer

Legal expert Julio de la Rosa Tiburcio, who has closely followed the case, pointed out through his social media that this phase seeks to reach all the actors who, according to his statements, were part of a framework involving both public officials and businessmen in the health sector. It is important to highlight that these statements are part of the lawyer’s position and do not yet represent a final ruling by the courts.

Alofoke Deportes remains attentive to the development of these operations, awaiting the Public Prosecutor’s Office to issue an official report with details on the results of the searches and the legal actions that will be taken in the coming days regarding those involved.
