Arrest warrant against journalist Ramón Tolentino denied
Lawyer and communicator José Martínez Brito has put an end to the speculation circulating in various news outlets by officially confirming that there is no arrest warrant against journalist Ramón Tolentino. This clarification comes after a series of rumors suggested an alleged judicial persecution against the communicator.
During his appearance on the program Esto No es Radio Show, Martínez Brito explained that the documentation that went viral on social media and other digital outlets is a fabrication. According to the jurist, the files used to manufacture the news story correspond to a legal case unrelated to the journalist.
Legal intervention and official verification
Faced with the proliferation of unfounded versions, businessman Santiago Matías requested a formal investigation to determine the veracity of the facts. Tolentino’s legal team emphasized that, had there been any real requirement from the justice system, the communicator would have voluntarily presented himself to the competent authorities.
Following inquiries made with the Attorney General’s Office and the National District Prosecutor’s Office, official bodies denied any judicial requirement against the communicator. The authorities pointed out that, due to Tolentino’s high level of social ties and public recognition, there was no flight risk, so if a formal procedure had existed, he would have been summoned directly.

Tolentino’s legal representative described the dissemination of these altered documents as a malicious strategy, whose main objective was to damage the journalist’s reputation and gauge public opinion’s reaction to a possible coercive measure.
Martínez Brito recalled that, under the Public Ministry’s protocols, any initial investigation process is confidential in nature. For his part, Ramón Tolentino and his legal team claimed to have identified the initial sources of this disinformation. Despite attempts to damage his image, they reaffirmed their commitment to continue their investigative journalism work without being intimidated by these types of maneuvers.
