Tragedy in Boca Chica: Two dead and five injured after shooting in Los Coquitos
An afternoon of violence shook the Los Coquitos sector, in the municipality of Boca Chica, when a shooting attack left two people dead and five injured. The incident has caused consternation in the community and has triggered an investigative deployment by the authorities.
The fatalities were identified as Jonathan Villanueva, popularly known as “Cotuí”, 26, and Jesús Alexis Delgado Ortiz, 31, who was recognized in the urban scene under the stage name “Diddy Glow”.
Event details and victims
In addition to the deceased, the attack left five other people with injuries of varying severity. The wounded were identified by the authorities as:
- Alexis José Castro Guzmán, alias “Alex”
- Manuel Alberto Perdomo Báez, alias “Fran Kelly”
- Javier Reyes, alias “Come Candela”
- Alver Ozuna Beato, alias “Lisandro”
- Ismael Noboa Mejía
The ages of those affected range from 21 to 32 years old, according to the preliminary official report.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the conflict stems from personal disputes dating back approximately one year, although the exact causes of the attack remain under a deep investigation process.
Ongoing research
According to the data collected by the National Police, the attackers arrived at the scene in a moving vehicle. From the car, they opened fire on the group of people before fleeing at full speed.
Currently, security forces are maintaining a tracking operation to identify and capture those responsible for this criminal act. Once detained, those involved will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office so that they may face the corresponding charges before the justice system.
