London – Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner showed caution in his training before the Wimbledon semi-finals, protecting his right elbow. This Friday, he will face Novak Djokovic in an anticipated match. Sinner had already used the protective sleeve during Wednesday’s warm-up and in his quarter-final match against Ben Shelton.

“The pain is improving. I have played with painkillers, which has helped me. It’s not easy to return the strong serves, but yes, it’s not something very crazy, because if not I would be much more worried,” he said.

“Time helps and now I have a day to recover, which is going to be good. On Friday I will be 100 %,” he stated.

This is the second time Sinner has reached the Wimbledon semi-finals. He will face Djokovic, an opponent he already defeated a month ago at Roland Garros. Sinner has won the last four matches against Djokovic. However, Djokovic prevailed in the two previous encounters at Wimbledon, in 2022 and 2023.

Alcaraz rests before his match

The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz decided to take a day off and will not train this Thursday at Wimbledon. Alcaraz will face Taylor Fritz this Friday. The match is scheduled for 13:30 local time on the center court at Wimbledon.
