Julio Virgilio Brache highlights stability in the national electricity system
The president of the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD), Julio Virgilio Brache, assured that the industrial sector has not suffered significant negative impacts due to recent electrical interruptions. According to the executive, the country’s energy system is in a stabilization phase.
Lately we have seen that there has been stability in the system. There were indeed blackouts in the past, but I believe that situation is currently stabilized.

Analysis of electricity consumption and the bill
When asked about the increase in electricity billing amounts, Brache clarified that this phenomenon is mainly due to seasonal factors. The rise in temperatures during the summer has triggered energy consumption in homes and businesses, which is reflected in current bills.
The business leader was emphatic in denying that there is an increase in the cost of the kilowatt, suggesting that any variation in payments should be carefully analyzed to identify whether the origin is operational consumption or adjustments in the contracted power.
