Coercive measure postponed for police officer involved in teenager’s death
The Dominican justice system has rescheduled the hearing to address the coercive measures against Edwin de los Santos Guerrero, the 23-year-old National Police officer who is in custody for his alleged involvement in the death of a 14-year-old minor in the Mendoza sector, Santo Domingo East.
The judicial process, which was originally scheduled to be held recently, was postponed by the corresponding court. The new date for the continuation of this case has been set for next Friday at 9:00 in the morning, at which time the evidentiary elements presented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office will be evaluated.

The defendant remains in custody while the competent authorities deepen the investigations to clarify the events that ended the teenager’s life. This event has caused great shock in the community and has captured public attention due to the nature of the involvement of a member of the uniformed police force.
