National Council of the Judiciary ratifies five judges of the Supreme Court of Justice
The National Council of the Magistracy (CNM) has successfully concluded its performance evaluation process, ratifying five magistrates of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) for a new seven-year term. This decision seeks to strengthen institutional integrity and ensure continuity in the Dominican high court.
The secretary of the CNM, magistrate Nancy Salcedo, was in charge of formalizing the results after concluding the deliberations. As reported, the evaluation process was governed by strict technical, ethical, and personal standards, complying with the provisions of Regulation number 2-25.
The National Council of the Magistracy complied today with the principles of transparency and participation throughout the evaluation process.

Magistrates confirmed in their positions
The judges who were ratified and who will continue to exercise their functions in the Supreme Court of Justice are:
- Justiniano Montero Montero: Current President of the First Chamber, Civil and Commercial.
- Fran Euclides Soto Sánchez: Member of the Second Chamber, specialized in criminal matters.
- Samuel Arias Arzeno: Judge of the First Chamber with an extensive teaching career.
- Anselmo Alejandro Bello Ferreras: Magistrate with more than two decades of judicial career.
- Rafael Vásquez Goico: Judge of the Third Chamber, expert in labor, contentious tax, and administrative matters.
- Proposals for candidates submitted by third parties will be accepted until Friday, September 10.
- The deadline for personal applications from interested parties is September 15.
Selection process for vacancies
Following this ratification, the CNM keeps the process open to fill the six remaining vacancies on the Supreme Court. The institution has reminded the public that the selection schedule remains in effect:
The CNM Secretariat will soon summon the ratified judges for their formal swearing-in. It is expected that in the coming days the institution will offer more details on the progress of this selection process through its official channels.
