Tragedy in Brisas del Este: 10-year-old boy dies after being hit by a truck
Deep dismay grips the Brisas del Este sector in Santo Domingo East following the death of a 10-year-old minor, who lost his life this Friday after being struck by a truck while riding a scooter with his stepfather on the way to his school.
The tragic accident occurred around 1:00 in the afternoon. According to the testimony of Wilkin Medina Bernardo, the child’s stepfather, both were traveling correctly on the right side of the road when they were struck from behind by the heavy vehicle.
We were heading to school. Mom was running late, she told me: ‘Go, take the child to school,’ and I told her: ‘No problem.’ I was driving on the right the whole time and the truck driver hit me from behind.
