Four young people in critical condition after spectacular accident in Santiago

A serious traffic accident that occurred early this Thursday on Estrella Sadhalá Avenue, in Santiago, has left four young people with significant injuries, who are currently receiving specialized medical attention at the José María Cabral y Báez Regional University Hospital.

The affected individuals, preliminarily identified as Marcos, JanCarlos, Eduard, and Adán, all residents of the Ensanche Libertad sector, have severe fractures that require urgent surgical intervention. Cayetano Morel, father of some of the young men, detailed the severity of the injuries suffered by the group, mentioning critical damage to limbs, hips, and jaws.

Details of the event at Sadhalá Star

The accident was recorded at approximately 3:38 a.m., in the vicinity of Plaza H and the La Gallera sector. According to preliminary reports, the SUV in which they were traveling lost control for reasons yet to be clarified, violently crashing into the power lines.

One has a broken hip and a leg broken in two places, another has an affected jaw, and another has both knees and a leg broken.

The impact was of such magnitude that it caused the knockdown of two utility poles, affecting transformers and generating explosions followed by a fire on the public road. Teams from the 9-1-1 National Emergency and Security Attention System intervened immediately, managing to rescue and transport the four occupants to the health center where they remain in critical condition.
