Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres has expressed his satisfaction with the style of play implemented by his former coach, Rúben Amorim. The striker, who previously played for Coventry City, also finished as the top scorer in the Liga Portugal with 39 goals, contributing to Sporting defending the league title last season.

Gyökeres commented on the achievement of winning two consecutive championships, something that hadn’t happened in 71 years, highlighting the crucial role of Rúben Amorim in this success. Gyökeres admitted that he was surprised by Amorim’s departure from Sporting in the middle of the season, especially when the team was leading the league and still competing in the Champions League. Gyökeres, 27, is expected to leave Sporting CP this summer, with the Premier League being his most likely destination.
