INEFI clarifies reasons behind the temporary closure of the athletics track in San Francisco de Macorís
The National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI) has issued an official statement to inform the sports community about the temporary suspension of activities at the athletics track of the San Francisco de Macorís sports complex. According to the entity, this measure responds strictly to a preventive maintenance schedule.
After the first year since its inauguration, held within the framework of the National School Games, the infrastructure has entered a technical inspection process. Alberto Rodríguez, executive director of INEFI, detailed that specialists and representatives of the company supplying the synthetic material are evaluating the current state of the surface to execute the necessary adjustments and ensure its useful life.
This is a top-tier specialized facility, the first blue one in the country, which represented a significant investment by the Dominican State. Like any high-performance work, it requires periodic inspections and a proper usage protocol to prevent premature deterioration.

The institution was emphatic in denying that the closure is the result of negligence or arbitrary decisions.
