Strategic alliance: Airport Department and CESAC reinforce security at air terminals
With the goal of optimizing operability and protection levels at airports in the Dominican Republic, the executive director of the Airport Department (DA), Mérido Torres Espinal, held a strategic meeting with the director of the Specialized Corps in Airport Security and Civil Aviation (CESAC), Manuel García Lithgow.
This courtesy meeting served as a setting to consolidate inter-institutional coordination, a fundamental pillar for the development of the sector. Both officials emphasized that the sustained growth of civil aviation in the country requires fluid and constant communication between the agencies that manage both the infrastructure and the security of the terminals.
Commitment to efficiency and safety
During the dialogue, Torres Espinal and García Lithgow agreed that the success of the national airport system depends directly on the synergy between its entities. While the CESAC is in charge of protecting civil aviation against acts of unlawful interference, the Airport Department focuses on the supervision, planning, and strengthening of physical facilities.
