Jassel Pérez leads the Vaqueros de Bayamón to a back-to-back championship in the BSN
Dominican basketball continues to leave its mark abroad. In a historic night for the sport, Dominican player Jassel Pérez was the offensive anchor who led the Vaqueros de Bayamón to capture the title in Puerto Rico’s Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN), after defeating the Santeros de Aguada 81-74 in the seventh and decisive game of the final series.
Pérez, who has established himself as an offensive benchmark in the league, shone on the biggest stage by scoring 25 points, becoming his team’s top scorer and a key piece for the organization to reach its 18th championship in franchise history.
A consecrating performance
The final series remained extremely competitive, forcing a seventh game after the Santeros de Aguada managed to even the score on multiple occasions. However, in the decisive match, Pérez took command, especially during the third quarter, where his scoring ability frustrated every comeback attempt by the opposing team.
