Twins Place Bailey Ober on Injured List
The Minnesota Twins have placed right-handed pitcher Bailey Ober on the 15-day injured list due to a left hip injury. The decision, retroactive to Sunday, comes after Saturday’s loss to the Detroit Tigers.
Ober allowed seven runs and eleven hits, including four home runs, in the 10-5 loss to the Tigers.
The pitcher, who will turn 30 on July 12, has a 0-5 record with 14 home runs allowed in his last five starts. So far this season, Ober has a 4-6 record with a 5.28 ERA in 17 starts.
Since his debut in the Major Leagues with the Twins in 2021, Ober has a record of 29-27 with an ERA of 4.01 in 105 games, all as a starter.
In response to this situation, the Twins have called up left-handed pitcher Kody Funderburk from Triple-A St. Paul. Funderburk, 28, has a 1-0 record with a 7.50 ERA in nine relief appearances this season with Minnesota.
