Kopech to the Injured List: Dodgers Face New Challenges

The Los Angeles Dodgers reliever, Michael Kopech, has been placed on the injured list again, this time due to inflammation in his right knee. The news represents a new setback for the pitcher, who had already been out of action during April and May due to a shoulder injury. According to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, Kopech received a cortisone injection. The team expects his time on the injured list to be relatively short. Kopech, who debuted in the season on June 8, achieved a streak of eight consecutive appearances without allowing runs, despite some control issues. Currently, he is one of the twelve Dodgers pitchers on the injured list, although at least three of them are showing a steady recovery. Blake Snell (shoulder) and Blake Treinen (forearm) will face hitters at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday. Tyler Glasnow (shoulder) is scheduled to throw five innings and 75 pitches for the Triple-A affiliate team on Thursday, which could be his final rehab outing before returning to the rotation. Shohei Ohtani will make his fourth start of the season against the Houston Astros on Saturday.
