Vinicio Castillo warns about the political impact of Santiago Matías
Political leader Vinicio Castillo Semán has pointed out that the traditional sectors of the Dominican Republic are making a strategic error by attempting to discredit the aspirations of Santiago Matías, widely known as Alofoke. According to Castillo, this behavior by the business elites and the conventional political class is counterproductive.
During a recent intervention, Castillo highlighted that the attitude of rejection towards the figure of the influencer not only strengthens his support among the citizenry, but also fosters an environment of social tension. In his view, ignoring or attacking Matías could lead to a conflict between social classes that the current political system should not underestimate.
A phenomenon with popular support
For the politician, the growth of Santiago Matías’s figure is no coincidence, but rather a reflection of the discontent accumulated by sectors that have historically felt marginalized and excluded from government agendas. This support base, according to Castillo, has the potential to transform into a disruptive electoral force capable of altering the traditional landscape if the elites continue to ignore the causes of this phenomenon.
Attacking Santiago Matías is a mistake; by doing that, you only empower him more.
Vinicio Castillo SemánCastillo called on the political class to analyze the national reality with greater serenity and depth, avoiding falling into disqualifications that, far from curbing the rise of new media and social figures, end up consolidating their influence on the electorate.
