Jorge Soler Returns to Action with the Angels; Braves Rotation Changes
Atlanta, Georgia – The Los Angeles Angels activated outfielder Jorge Soler from the injured list before Tuesday night’s game against the Atlanta Braves. Soler had been out of action since June 18 due to lower back inflammation.
To make room on the roster, utility player Scott Kingery was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Soler is expected to resume his role as the team’s primary right fielder. His return coincides with the Angels’ visit to his former team, as Soler was acquired by the Angels from the Braves on October 31, 2024.
So far this season, Soler has a batting average of .207, with eight home runs and 26 RBIs in 237 at-bats.
On the other hand, the Braves announced changes to their pitching rotation for the series. Didier Fuentes, who has a 0-2 record with an ERA of 10.80 in his first two starts, saw his start originally scheduled for Tuesday postponed to Wednesday. Right-handed pitcher Grant Holmes (4-7, 3.70) moved his start up a day to open the first game of the series.
