Ansu Fati joins Monaco on loan

The Barcelona forward, Ansu Fati, will play for Monaco on loan for the 2025-26 season. The Catalan club confirmed the news. In addition, the La Liga club announced that Fati, 22, has extended his contract with Barça until the end of the 2027-28 season. The idea of playing in France and competing in the Champions League attracted Fati, who seeks to relaunch his career after having had little participation in Barcelona in the last 12 months.
Ansu Fati ha fichado por la Ligue 1 en busca de más minutos.
Ansu Fati has signed for Ligue 1 in search of more playing time. He participated in 11 matches in all competitions under the direction of Hansi Flick, although he was only a starter in three of them, totaling 297 minutes. After bursting onto the football scene at the age of 16 in 2019, Fati’s progression was hampered by a series of injuries in the following years. In 2023, he joined Brighton on loan, scoring four goals in 27 games with the Premier League team, before returning to Barça last summer. In total, he has scored 29 goals with the Catalan club in 123 matches and remains the youngest goalscorer in Champions League history, at 17 years and 40 days old, 28 days younger than his teammate Lamine Yamal. He has also been international with Spain on 10 occasions, scoring two goals, but has not played for his country since 2023.
