Tragedy in Santiago: Teenager wounded by gunfire in the Nueva York Chiquito sector
A 16-year-old minor is in critical condition after being shot in the head during a violent attack that occurred in the Nueva York Chiquito sector, in Santiago de los Caballeros. The incident took place while the victim was in front of his residence in the company of his father.

According to preliminary reports provided by police authorities, an individual on a motorcycle burst into the area and opened fire on a man preliminarily identified as Dani. It was in the midst of this shooting that one of the projectiles struck the teenager.
The authorities have initiated the necessary investigations to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident and determine whether the minor was the direct target of the attack or if he was the victim of a stray bullet during the confrontation.
Health status and course of investigations
Following the incident, the young man was rushed to the Dr. Arturo Grullón Regional University Children’s Hospital. Currently, the medical team is keeping his health status confidential while he receives the necessary care.
The National Police, in coordination with the Public Ministry, is actively working in the area to:
- Collect evidence and testimonies that allow for the identification of the aggressor.
- Reconstruct the trajectory and the motive behind the shooting.
