Juan Soto: From Doubt to Brilliance, Heading to the 2025 All-Star Game

Dominican outfielder Juan Soto is experiencing a notable transformation in his offensive performance, solidifying himself as a strong contender to be a starter in the 2025 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, to be held on July 15 at Truist Park in Atlanta. After a season start with ups and downs, Soto has achieved a spectacular comeback in a matter of weeks, significantly improving his statistics and demonstrating his worth on the field. Although he wasn’t among the top three voted gardeners in Phase 1, Soto has reversed his situation in record time. In just three weeks, he has increased his batting average and his OPS by more than 100 points, including five home runs in five days.

My swing, everything is going the right way. The cold is finally gone, so I can have fun now.

In Phase 1, Soto accumulated 1,490,489 votes, placing sixth among National League outfielders. Phase 2 restarts the voting, giving him a new opportunity to demonstrate his current impact on the field. Currently, Soto is displaying an impressive offensive line (.333/.486/.784 in his last 25 games), which has captured the attention of fans and analysts.

Support in the Mets and Among Voters

Soto is not the only Mets player with aspirations. Francisco Lindor, leader in votes among National League shortstops, and Pete Alonso, second among first basemen, also advanced to Phase 2. However, Soto’s recent performance positions him as the main offensive asset of the New York team.

Back then, he didn’t get too discouraged… and now he’s not too confident either. That, for me and for all of us, is truly impressive.

What Follows

The Phase 2 voting began on Monday, June 30th, and concludes on Wednesday, July 2nd. Fans can vote once per day, and the results will be announced on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET. If selected, this would be Soto’s second consecutive All-Star start, after being the American League’s starter last year and a reserve between 2021 and 2023.
