MLB reveals the official schedule for the 2026 postseason
Major League Baseball has announced the official schedule for the 2026 postseason campaign. The battle for the championship title will officially begin on September 29 with the start of the exciting Wild Card Series.
Playoff format and structure
The classification system maintains the current format, where the top two teams from each league earn a direct pass to the Division Series. Meanwhile, franchises seeded third through sixth must overcome the Wild Card stage, which will be decided in a best-of-three series.
- Division Series: The road to the trophy continues on October 3.
- Championship Series: The action in the National League is scheduled to begin on October 11, while in the American League the series will start on October 12.
- World Series: The Fall Classic will kick off on October 23 under a seven-game format.
If the final series extends to the maximum of seven games, the new Major League champion will be crowned on October 31, coinciding with Halloween night.
Television coverage
Fans will be able to follow every detail of the postseason through various platforms. The Spanish-language broadcast will be handled by FOX Deportes, Universo, and Univision. Likewise, all matchups corresponding to the World Series will have exclusive coverage through the FOX and FOX Deportes signals.
