Ruud van Nistelrooy leaves Leicester City two months after the relegation.
Leicester City announced the departure of their coach, Ruud van Nistelrooy, nine weeks after being relegated from the Premier League.
The team was relegated to the Championship after a season in which they only won six matches. Steve Cooper was dismissed in November and replaced by Van Nistelrooy.
The Dutch coach failed to avoid relegation and was fired on Friday.
I would like to personally thank the players, coaches, the academy and all the staff at Leicester City with whom I have worked for their professionalism and dedication during my time at the club, and thank the fans for their support. I take this opportunity to wish the club the best for the future.
Ruud van Nistelrooy
Leicester City will begin their Championship journey at home against Sheffield Wednesday on August 10th.
