Harrington and Hensby Lead U.S. Senior Open with 67

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Padraig Harrington and Mark Hensby share the lead at the U.S. Senior Open after a first round full of emotions. Both golfers achieved a score of 3 under par, with a score of 67. Harrington, champion of the U.S. Senior in 2022, achieved four birdies during the round, demonstrating his skill on the course. The Irishman, however, had a complicated moment on the 15th hole, where a bad tee shot sent him into the thicket. Despite this setback, he managed to save a crucial bogey, which allowed him to stay at the top of the leaderboard.

Overall, disappointed with my bogey on the 15th, but happy to have saved it.

The Broadmoor’s course presented challenges, especially on the greens, which were described as “treacherous”. Despite the favorable weather conditions, only 17 players managed to finish under par in the first round. The competition promises to be intense, with Hensby looking to maintain his consistency and Harrington demonstrating his experience in search of another title.
