Verstappen Welcomes Vettel to Red Bull

The current Formula 1 champion, Max Verstappen, has expressed his enthusiasm for Sebastian Vettel’s possible return to Red Bull. The German driver, a four-time world champion, has hinted at the possibility of succeeding Helmut Marko, the team’s consultant. Marko, 82 years old, has a contract with Red Bull until the end of next year. His career in motorsport is notable, and his influence on the team has been significant.

It’s more than normal that someone who has achieved so much with Red Bull, who has been trained by Red Bull, returns.

Verstappen, when asked about the topic at the Austrian Grand Prix, stated that there is always a place available for Vettel. Furthermore, he highlighted the good relationship that the German has always maintained with Marko, even after leaving the team. Vettel, who won consecutive titles with Red Bull between 2010 and 2013, retired from Formula 1 in 2022 after stints at Ferrari and Aston Martin.

Marko was a close collaborator of the late Red Bull owner, Dietrich Mateschitz, and has been a key figure in the team, both on the track and in the development of young drivers. During Vettel’s time, Marko was part of a leading trio alongside team principal Christian Horner and designer Adrian Newey, who is now at Aston Martin. Vettel recently stated to the Austrian television ORF that they are in contact, although not intensively. Marko, for his part, commented that Vettel is closely following the situation and that the question of succession is one of the topics under discussion.
