Billy Berroa Predicts Sentence for Wander Franco

The renowned sports journalist Billy Berroa has expressed his conviction about the future of Dominican baseball player Wander Franco, suspended by the Tampa Bay Rays, in relation to the accusations of sexual abuse against a 14-year-old minor. Berroa believes that the evidence against Franco is conclusive and points to a conviction. According to Berroa’s analysis, the participation of the minor’s mother in the case, who is also involved, plays a crucial and unfavorable role for Franco.

“Yes, I believe so, I believe so, because the mother who received money is involved”,

Despite Franco’s defense arguments, which maintain the lack of evidence regarding the delivery of money to the minor’s mother, Berroa maintains his position. Berroa lamented the situation Franco is facing, pointing out that this type of case negatively impacts the country’s image. He also warned about the influence that disclosures on digital platforms can have on judicial decisions. Regarding Franco’s contract with the Rays, the reporter explained that the player is currently suspended and is not receiving the benefits of the $182 million contract. However, Berroa suggested that the franchise could consider giving Franco another chance if he is acquitted. In addition, Berroa emphasized that Major League organizations have a firm stance against abuse cases, which could prevent Franco’s return to the league, even if he is declared innocent.

“I don’t think he’s coming back, I don’t think he’ll return to the Major Leagues even if he’s acquitted”,

The court in Puerto Plata is scheduled to issue the sentence on the Wander Franco case next Thursday, June 26th.
