Borthwick surprises: 10 debutants in England’s squad for Argentina

Steve Borthwick, England’s coach, has revealed the squad for the summer tour in Argentina, including a mix of experience and youth. A total of 10 inexperienced players in the national team have been selected for this tour, providing new opportunities and seeking to strengthen the team in the absence of 13 players who will be fulfilling commitments with the British and Irish Lions.

Among the new faces are Charlie Atkinson, Seb Atkinson, Arthur Clark (all from Gloucester), Will Muir, Max Ojomoh and Guy Pepper (all from Bath), Oscar Beard and Luke Northmore (Harlequins), along with Joe Carpenter from Sale and Emmanuel Iyogun from Northampton. Some of these players already had the opportunity to participate in the match against the French XV.

Jamie George and George Ford, who has 99 international matches, will lead the team as co-captains. England will face the Pumas in Buenos Aires on July 5 and in San Juan on July 12, as well as playing against the United States in Washington, D.C. on July 19.

The three-match series is a great challenge and a valuable opportunity for the continued development of this team.
