The Guardians’ offense reacted with an explosive four-run rally in the second inning, after a June with an average of 2.8 runs per game. In that episode, all nine batters on the team came to the plate, connecting five hits, including three singles and two doubles, in addition to a walk. Starting pitcher Luis Ortiz also had an outstanding performance, pitching six scoreless innings and striking out 10 batters, tying his personal record.
