LeBron James leads the Lakers to another playoff victory
Santo Domingo – LeBron James once again demonstrated his dominance on the court, guiding the Los Angeles Lakers to a crucial 101-94 victory over the Houston Rockets. With this win, the Lakers take a 2-0 lead in their first-round NBA playoff series.
The experienced player, at 41 years old, offered a stellar performance with 28 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. James led a Lakers team that has managed to overcome significant absences in the team.
The Lakers’ offense was supported by Marcus Smart, who scored 25 points and dished out seven assists, and Luke Kennard, who added 23 points. In the final moments of the game, a spectacular dunk by James, after an assist from Smart, and Kennard’s free throws sealed the victory for the Los Angeles team.
From the Rockets, Alperen Sengun stood out with 20 points and 11 rebounds, followed by Jabari Smith Jr. with 18 points and Amen Thompson with 16. Despite these efforts, the Rockets struggled on offense, with a 40.4% field goal percentage.
Kevin Durant’s return, who missed the first game due to an injury, was not enough to change the course of the match, as the Lakers’ defense managed to limit his impact in the second half.
The third game of the series will be played this Friday in Houston, where the Rockets will seek to react in front of their fans.
