“Flow Jacket” Dominican Republic from the 2026 World Baseball Classic Up for Auction
Santo Domingo, RD. The emblematic “flow jacket” that celebrated the home runs of the Dominican Republic team in the 2026 World Baseball Classic now has a new destination: the auction organized by Major League Baseball (MLB). The garment, which became a symbol of the Dominican team, has generated great interest among fans and collectors. In the first hours of the auction, 74 bids have been registered, reaching a value of $5,510. The jacket was authenticated for its use in the March 15th semi-final against the United States. One of the most remembered moments was Junior Caminero’s home run against Nicaragua, which unleashed euphoria in the stadium. Upon reaching the plate, the young player was greeted with the iconic jacket by teammates like Manny Machado, Julio Rodríguez, and Oneil Cruz. This initiative was inspired by trends in Major League Baseball, such as the celebration jacket of the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2025 postseason. The Dominican team adapted the idea, incorporating cultural elements such as a weight decorated with bananas and a chain, to highlight pride and national identity.More than a simple garment, the “flow jacket” symbolizes the unity, culture, and energy of the Dominican team, leaving an indelible mark on the tournament. Now, the auction seeks for the piece to continue making history.“Create an environment of integration, where players have fun and don’t feel the game is so rigid.”
Gregory Castro, social media manager of the team
