Ohtani ready to pitch for the Dodgers on Sunday

Japanese star Shohei Ohtani prepares for his next mound appearance with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The game is scheduled for Sunday against the Washington Nationals.

Ohtani’s debut as a pitcher with the Dodgers took place on Monday, facing the San Diego Padres. In one inning, he allowed one run and two hits. In addition to his pitching work, Ohtani batted as the first batter and hit two hits.

During his 28-pitch presentation, Ohtani faced prominent Padres hitters, such as Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado.

The Dodgers look to close out their four-game series against San Diego on Thursday night, aiming for their sixth straight win.

After undergoing Tommy John surgery after the 2023 season while playing for the Los Angeles Angels, Ohtani missed the entire 2024 season. Subsequently, he signed a 10-year, $700 million contract with the Dodgers.
