Cam Taylor-Britt Bolsters the Colts’ Defense

Free agent cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt has signed with the Indianapolis Colts, the team announced this Tuesday.

Although the terms of the contract were not publicly disclosed, sources close to NFL Network indicate that it is a one-year deal.

This signing represents a reunion for Taylor-Britt with Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who was his defensive coordinator with the Cincinnati Bengals until last season.

Taylor-Britt, 26, leaves Cincinnati after a mixed stint with the Bengals. Drafted in the second round of the 2022 draft, he was the team’s primary cornerback for much of his time there.

However, his role changed last season due to inconsistent performances. He was even benched for the Week 7 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Taylor-Britt regained a spot in the rotation before suffering a season-ending Lisfranc injury in the Week 11 loss against Pittsburgh. In eight games during 2023, he accumulated five pass deflections and 21 tackles.

In his four years with the Bengals, Taylor-Britt started in 40 of his 47 appearances, recording seven interceptions and 38 pass deflections in total.
