Attention speed fanatics! The name Harvick could resonate again in the 2031 Daytona 500, when Keelan Harvick, son of the renowned driver Kevin Harvick, is ready to compete in the prestigious race. Toyota Racing Development (TRD) has announced the signing of a long-term contract with Keelan, a 13-year-old driver with a promising future in NASCAR.

My main goal is to be like my father and reach the Cup Series.

Keelan, who initially explored a career in Europe, changed course after an incident in a karting competition in Italy, where the presence of Formula 1 star Charles Leclerc made him reconsider his path. Toyota has designed a detailed plan for the young driver, which will include his participation in numerous late model races at the national level this year, in collaboration with RACKLEY W.A.R. and Kevin Harvick, Inc. Keelan will drive the Toyota Camry No. 62, with ExxonMobil as the main sponsor in many of these races. An interesting twist for the Harvick family, considering that Kevin Harvick competed for 23 years for Chevrolet and Ford, never for Toyota. Kevin retired after the 2023 season with 63 Cup Series wins and the 2014 championship, and is currently a sports analyst.

We have focused a lot on development and have a theory about how it should be, and I felt that the Toyota process matched what we would do.

The Toyota Driver Development program has propelled current NASCAR Cup drivers, such as Christopher Bell, Corey Heim, and John Hunter Nemechek, who compete with Toyota-affiliated teams. Other drivers like Erik Jones and Daniel Suárez also collaborated with Toyota, but now compete for rival manufacturers. TRD offers support both on and off the track, providing its drivers with access to the Toyota Performance Center, which offers support in physical conditioning, sports psychology, recovery, and nutrition.

Everyone at Toyota and TRD is excited to welcome Keelan to the Toyota Racing family.

Keelan Harvick has already achieved success in various racing series, including the most important victory of his career to date in December, becoming the youngest winner of the Snowflake 125 at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. This was followed by a victory in the Icebreaker at Florence Motor Speedway in early February, where he was the youngest winner of the event, earning his first Late Model victory. He was the 2024 INEX Young Lions National Champion and moved from Legends to Late Models, where he won four zMAX CARS Tour Pro Late Model events and two CARS Tour West Pro Late Model Series races in 2025. Keelan is the first driver to win PLM events in both series in the same season. Regarding his aspirations to reach the Cup Series and follow in his father’s footsteps?

I believe what Toyota thinks I am capable of doing, the talent they think I have, and when they believe I am ready to move up.
