More Invited Players to the 2025 NBA Draft
New invitations for the coveted 2025 NBA Draft have been extended to six additional players, who will have the privilege of waiting their turn in the “green room” during the event in New York. This addition is in addition to the 13 prospects already invited last week.
The players joining the guest list are: Noa Essengue, Collin Murray-Boyles, Thomas Sorber, Liam McNeeley, Nolan Traore and Will Riley. They will join Cooper Flagg, Dylan Harper, Ace Bailey, VJ Edgecombe, Tre Johnson, Khaman Maluach, Jeremiah Fears, Kon Knueppel, Kasparas Jakucionis, Egor Demin, Carter Bryant, Derik Queen and Asa Newell.
Five more invitations are expected to be sent during this week, which will raise the total number to 24 players.
The “green room” is the designated area in front of the draft podium, where players, their families, and agents await the call from commissioner Adam Silver to announce their selection.
Each player has the possibility to invite six people to their table.
The process of selecting draft invitees involves direct communication with the presidents or general managers of the teams that have picks in the first round. The teams are asked to vote for the top 25 players they anticipate hearing about first.
Receiving an invitation is a positive indicator for a player’s draft expectations. However, historically, there have been cases of prospects who, despite being in the “green room”, have been selected in the second round.
The NBA draft, which has been held over two days since last year, will begin with the first round on June 25 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The first round of the NBA draft will take place on June 25 at the Barclays Center in New York City (8 p.m. ET ABC/ESPN/ESPN+). The second round will be on June 26 (8 p.m. ET (ESPN and the ESPN app).
