Gable Steveson Extends His Undefeated MMA Record
American wrestler and Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson continues his promising career in mixed martial arts (MMA) after securing his third professional victory. Steveson, 25, demonstrated his superiority by defeating Hugo Lezama (11-4) by TKO in the first round at the Mexico Fight League 3 event held in Monterrey, Mexico. The fight ended at 3 minutes and 50 seconds, when Steveson connected a series of precise blows on the ground.Despite his dominance, Steveson showed some signs of inexperience. Lezama managed to connect with a spinning kick, and Steveson seemed to show some fatigue, although the fight ended in the first round. However, it was a relatively uneven contest against an opponent with more experience in MMA. Steveson, also a two-time NCAA Division I wrestling champion, has been on the UFC’s radar for over a year. He trains alongside UFC legend Jon Jones in Albuquerque, New Mexico.I feel great. I am improving every day. I’m going to take a shower, go back to my hotel and sleep.
