National Athletics Championship: Success and Qualification for International Events
Santo Domingo – The Dominican Athletics Federation successfully held the National Championship of Jumps, Throws, Middle Distance, Long Distance, and Race Walking. The event, which took place on the tracks of Bayaguana and La Romana, served as a platform to identify the most outstanding athletes. The athletes who achieved the best marks in this championship will be considered to be part of the national pre-selections. These pre-selections will prepare for the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Games, as well as for the National Athletics Championship.In addition to the classification for international events, the championship also served as preparation for the National Superior Championship, jointly organized by the Athletics Federation and the provincial associations. In the team competition, the province of La Romana stood out by accumulating a total of 177 points, leading the general table. El Seibo was positioned in second place with 128 points, followed by San Pedro de Macorís. Monte Plata reached fourth place with 60 points. The event was supported by the Ministry of Sports, the Olympic Committee, Grupo Creso, Adidas, World Athletics, and INEFI.We are focused on the Central American Games where we will bring our best to the track to raise the tricolor flag in the regional event.
