Santo Domingo – The general manager of the Dominican team, Nelson Cruz, offered crucial statements after the official announcement of the Dominican Republic roster for the upcoming 2026 World Baseball Classic. Cruz addressed key issues such as the selection process, possible substitutions, insurance, and team leadership. The executive detailed the protocol followed for the inclusion of players in the roster. This process begins with the confirmation of the player’s interest and notification to the Players Association, the body that validates participation before management contacts the athlete directly. Regarding potential substitutions, Cruz reported that the team has priority lists prepared by the scouting department.
