A’ja Wilson Suffers Head Injury During Aces Game
WNBA star A’ja Wilson, a three-time Most Valuable Player (MVP), left Wednesday night’s game between the Las Vegas Aces and the Los Angeles Sparks due to a head injury.
The Aces suffered a defeat against the Sparks with a score of 97-89. Wilson retired from the game with 1 minute and 17 seconds left to finish the third quarter.
After being accidentally hit in the face during a play, Wilson covered her nose with a towel. Subsequently, she left the bench area and was ruled out for the rest of the match at the start of the final quarter.
The hit occurred during a drive by Dearica Hamby towards the basket. Despite the injury, Wilson continued playing with gauze on her nose to stop the bleeding.
The Aces said they would provide more details “following further evaluation”.
Before leaving the game, Wilson scored 13 points, with 2 of 12 field goals and 9 of 10 free throws. In addition, he got eight rebounds and five assists in 28 minutes of play.
