Wrestlepalooza: A Detailed Analysis of the Most Outstanding Matches

The Wrestlepalooza event, which marks the beginning of WWE’s live events on ESPN Unlimited, left us with memorable moments. Below, we analyze each of the matches and the overall rating of the event.

Women’s World Championship: Iyo Sky vs. Stephanie Vaquer

Result: Vaquer defeated Sky by a count of three.

Rating: B+

This match was an exceptional display by two of WWE’s best female wrestlers. The first half was a game of chess where counterattacks were key. Vaquer focused on Sky’s knee, which gave her an advantage. Sky reacted with knee strikes and a Spanish Fly, but her knee prevented her from executing her finishing move. Vaquer took the opportunity to apply a Spinal Tap and take the victory. A match that deserves to be seen.

Tag Team Match: The Usos vs. The Vision

Result: The Vision defeated The Usos by a count of three.Rating: C The first part of the match was slow, with the special referee, LA Knight, allowing the use of chairs and tables. The action increased after a near three-count. After several Spears, Jey Uso received a blow that made him bleed, which caused an interruption. Breakker and Reed executed their finishing moves for The Vision’s victory. The slow start and disjointed finish detracted from the match. While it wasn’t a bad match, the Usos have had better performances.

Mixed Tag Team Match: CM Punk and AJ Lee vs. Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch

Result: Punk and Lee defeated Rollins and Lynch by submission.Rating: C These mixed matches usually prioritize entertainment over the fight. Rollins and Lynch sought to keep Lee out of the match. Everything changed when Punk entered the action, allowing Lee to prove his worth after years of absence. There was chaos and incredible moments, including attempts at finishing moves and submission holds. The end came after a dangerous spot where Lynch threw Lee against a table. Lee applied his Black Widow to Lynch for the submission. The duration of the match was a bit long, but it was great to see Lee back. The next step could be a Lee challenge for Lynch’s Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre

Result: Rhodes defeated McIntyre by a count of three.Rating: C The main event, lasting just over 15 minutes, failed to reach its full potential. The story focused on Rhodes’ head injury. Although the impact did not influence the final result. McIntyre injured his leg, allowing Rhodes to apply the Cross Rhodes for the victory. This match seemed more suitable for a SmackDown event.

Singles Match: John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar

Result: Lesnar defeated Cena by a three-count.Rating: C- The seventh match between Cena and Lesnar was more of an introduction for their next fight. Lesnar dominated, applying Suplex City and six F-5s for a quick victory. The match didn’t offer much more, with a predictable outcome.

Overall Rating of WWE Wrestlepalooza:

Rating: C The match between Vaquer and Sky stood out at the event. The rest of the matches were disappointing or served as a prelude to future confrontations. Wrestlepalooza did not meet expectations of offering epic moments.
