Surprise on Raw: The End of the Vision?

The wrestling world was shaken this weekend. After weeks of speculation, Seth Rollins managed to defeat Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel, but the consequences were immediate and devastating. Bron Breakker, with a shocking statement at the end of “Raw”, ended the alliance known as “The Vision”. The breakup was even more surprising because Rollins had started “Raw” praising Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Paul Heyman. This unexpected turn of events crowned a program full of surprises, including Dominik Mysterio’s cunning to retain his Intercontinental title and the tense relationship between Asuka and Kairi Sane.

“Raw” Results from October 13th

  • Dominik Mysterio (c) defeated Penta by a three-count.
  • Rhea Ripley defeated Kairi Sane by a three-count.
  • Bronson Reed defeated Jimmy Uso by a three-count.
  • Bayley and Lyra Valkyria defeated Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez by a three-count.
  • CM Punk defeated LA Knight and Jey Uso.

The Collapse of the Vision: An Analysis

Rollins kicked off the program with a promo celebrating Breakker, Reed, and Heyman. However, the absence of Heyman’s ultimatum before Crown Jewel, which demanded Rollins leave if he lost against Rhodes, was notable. In fact, Rollins doubled down, declaring later in the program: “This is the top of the mountain… rarefied air.” Now, he needs an oxygen mask at the top, as Breakker and Reed have put a target on his back. The collapse of “The Vision” came as a surprise, especially after CM Punk won a triple threat match against Jey Uso and LA Knight, positioning himself as the number one contender for Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship. Heyman raised Reed and Breakker’s arms after their attack on Rollins, apparently leaving Rollins alone and shattered. With adversaries in every corner and no one on his side, the panorama becomes dangerous for the Visionary and his hopes of remaining champion. The timing of the attack raises questions. Breakker is a future world champion and Reed has achieved incredible victories. Could this rivalry be sudden and premature? Perhaps an extra layer of intrigue was needed in the Punk vs. Rollins saga? Could the Brons cost Rollins his world title and then fight each other?

Other Highlights from “Raw”

Dominik Mysterio continues to find cunning ways to retain his Intercontinental Championship. Against Penta, he distracted the timekeeper to steal the hammer, then placed his title in the middle of the ring. While the referee cleared the belt, Mysterio hit Penta in the knee with the hammer and then stashed it in his boot to execute a 619 and a frog splash, retaining his title. These ingenious victories continue to work well on screen and entertain audiences. The Kabuki Warriors seem to be on the verge of collapse. Asuka slapped and yelled at Kairi Sane before her match with Rhea Ripley, which Sane lost. But Asuka got revenge with a DDT on Ripley on the commentary table, and the scene ended with Asuka hugging Sane over Ripley. Will these two teams (Ripley and Iyo Sky and The Kabuki Warriors) find three more partners and fight at Survivor Series: WarGames on November 29? In the last 48 hours, Reed and Ripley have a 4-0 record against the home teams.

Do you remember the character Festus from the 2000s? He was kind and gentle, but as soon as a bell rang, he turned into a monster. It seems Bayley has a version of that. Lyra Valkyria had the happy version of Bayley when they entered their match with Judgment Day, but Valkyria needed the vicious Bayley, so she slapped her to unlock her evil, leading to victory. As the commentator pointed out, “Has Lyra discovered Bayley?”
