John Cena and AJ Styles Steal the Show at Crown Jewel

WWE’s Crown Jewel event in Perth, Australia, witnessed an unforgettable spectacle. John Cena and AJ Styles starred in a match that will be etched in the memory of the fans. The fight, a tribute to professional wrestling, was a clash between two legends, with Cena at the end of his career and Styles looking towards his retirement in 2026. The match was full of references to rivals and WWE legends.

Cena also achieved his 100th victory in WWE Premium Live Events. A record only surpassed by The Undertaker with 107.
  • Bronson Reed defeated Roman Reigns
  • Stephanie Vaquer defeated Tiffany Stratton (Women’s Crown Jewel Championship)
  • John Cena defeated AJ Styles
  • Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky defeated Asuka and Kairi Sane
  • Seth Rollins defeated Cody Rhodes (Men’s Crown Jewel Championship)

Cena vs. Styles: A Wrestling Tribute

The match between John Cena and AJ Styles could be remembered as the best of Cena’s farewell tour, full of tributes. Cena delivered a special introduction through Alicia Taylor, with references to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and the Bullet Club, which provoked chants of “Holy s—” and “This is awesome” before the match began. The encounter started with a “catch-as-catch can” style, with displays of respect between both wrestlers.

Tributes to former rivals continued for Cena, including a Skull Crushing Finale (The Miz), an Accolade (Rusev), and a Walls of Jericho (Chris Jericho). Styles used his old TNA gear. Cena connected with a DDT with Styles’ feet on the ropes, followed by an RKO (homage to Randy Orton). An attempt at a 619 and Sweet Chin Music (from Styles) was also seen. The most emotional moment was when Cena performed a Sister Abigail, with a kiss on the forehead included, which ignited the audience. Cena achieved victory by applying a Tombstone followed by an Attitude Adjustment, a match that will go down in wrestling history.

Rhodes and Rollins: The Future at Stake

The Crown Jewel card also featured the match between Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, a clash between the present and the future of the industry. Rollins prevailed over Rhodes after hitting him with the Rolex watch that Rhodes had given him, followed by a stomp from the top rope, thus obtaining the Crown Jewel Men’s Championship. After weeks of pressure, Rollins achieved victory, and perhaps this is part of a strategy for Rollins to reach his full potential. The Cena vs. Styles and Rhodes vs. Rollins matches, in a way, represented the passing of the torch in the world of wrestling.

Bronson Reed surprises Roman Reigns

The Australian street rules match included cricket bats, rugby balls, and fights all over the venue. Roman Reigns dominated the first few minutes, seeking revenge against Bronson Reed, until Reed changed the course of the match. Bron Breakker appeared to help Reed, and The Usos tried to help Reigns, but Jey Uso accidentally attacked him through a table, leading to Reed’s victory. Reed joins Cody Rhodes as the second wrestler to defeat Reigns in recent years. At the end of the match, Reigns told The Usos: “I don’t want to see you until Christmas.”

Vaquer crowned champion

In the match for the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship, Stephanie Vaquer defeated Tiffany Stratton with a Corkscrew Splash, winning the championship and ending Stratton’s undefeated streak. The audience showed their support with chants for both wrestlers. Australian wrestlers shone in Perth. Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky defeated the Kabuki Warriors, Bronson Reed achieved a historic victory, and Grayson Waller was a protagonist. A great event for the local WWE talents.
