WrestleMania Expands: Saudi Arabia to Host the Spectacle in 2027

The iconic WrestleMania, the pinnacle event of professional wrestling, will break geographical barriers in 2027 by being held for the first time outside of North America. The chosen destination is Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of the “Riyadh Season”. Since its inception in 1985, WrestleMania has taken place exclusively in North American cities. This change marks a significant milestone in the event’s history and in WWE’s global expansion strategy.

The official announcement comes after the revelation by Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia, who anticipated the news through a video on Snapchat.

WrestleMania is already the biggest date on the wrestling calendar, and this announcement marks a significant moment in our partnership with WWE. Our vision is to elevate this iconic event to unprecedented heights and deliver a WrestleMania like never before seen.

This decision is part of a collaboration agreement between WWE and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which began in 2018 with a billion-dollar deal to hold multiple events in the country over a decade. The next Royal Rumble, in 2025, will be the first of WWE’s four “Big Four” events to be held in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, WrestleMania 42 will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19, 2026, marking the second consecutive time that Las Vegas hosts the event.
