WrestleMania Expands: Saudi Arabia to Host the Event in 2027

For the first time in its history, WrestleMania, the pinnacle event of professional wrestling, will be held outside of North America. The 2027 edition of the “Showcase of the Immortals” will move to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of the “Riyadh Season” initiative, WWE announced on Friday.

Since its inception in 1985, WrestleMania has been limited to North American cities. However, Paul “Triple H” Levesque’s vision, WWE’s Chief Creative Officer, of taking the company’s biggest event internationally, will finally materialize.

This is an opportunity to show the world that WWE is a global brand that reaches every corner of the planet and excites fans everywhere.

The official announcement comes a few days after Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, revealed the news via a live video on Snapchat, which has already been deleted.

WrestleMania is already the most important date on the wrestling calendar, and this announcement marks a significant moment in our partnership with WWE. We deeply respect the legacy of WrestleMania and the global prestige it holds among wrestling fans worldwide.

WWE has been holding events in Saudi Arabia since 2018, as part of a billion-dollar deal that includes multiple shows in the country over a decade. The next Royal Rumble, which will take place next year, will be the first of the WWE’s “Big Four” events to be held in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, WrestleMania 42 will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19, 2026, marking the second consecutive time that Las Vegas hosts the event.
