WrestleMania Expands: Saudi Arabia to Host the Event in 2027
In a historic milestone for professional wrestling, WWE announced this Friday that WrestleMania, the company’s biggest event, will be held outside of North America for the first time. The city of Riyadh, in Saudi Arabia, will host the “Showcase of the Immortals” as part of the “Riyadh Season” in the year 2027. Since its creation in 1985, WrestleMania has been held exclusively in North American cities. The idea of taking the event internationally had been hinted at by Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Chief Creative Officer, and is now materializing.The official announcement comes a few days after Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, mentioned the event in a live Snapchat video, which has since been deleted.This is an opportunity to show the world that WWE is a global brand that reaches every corner of the planet and excites fans everywhere.

The vision is to elevate this iconic event to unprecedented levels and deliver a WrestleMania like never before seen. WWE has been holding events in Saudi Arabia since 2018, following a billion-dollar deal with the Kingdom, which includes the realization of multiple shows over ten years. Next year’s Royal Rumble will be the first of the four “major” WWE events to be held in Saudi Arabia.WrestleMania is already the most important date on the wrestling calendar, and this announcement marks a significant moment in our partnership with WWE. Meanwhile, WrestleMania 42 will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19, 2026. It will be the second consecutive time that Las Vegas hosts WrestleMania.
