WrestleMania Expands: Saudi Arabia to Host the Event in 2027
For the first time in its history, WrestleMania, the pinnacle event of professional wrestling, will be held outside of North America. The city of Riyadh, in Saudi Arabia, will host the “Showcase of the Immortals” as part of the “Riyadh Season” events in 2027, as announced by WWE last Friday.
Since its inception in 1985, WrestleMania has been limited to North American cities. However, the idea of taking the company’s biggest event abroad, hinted at by WWE’s Chief Creative Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, will come true.The official announcement came a few days after Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, mentioned WrestleMania’s arrival in the country in a live Snapchat video, which has already been deleted.This is an opportunity to show the world that WWE is a global brand that reaches every corner of the planet and excites fans everywhere.

The association between WWE and Saudi Arabia dates back to 2018, with a billion-dollar deal that includes multiple company events in the country over ten years. Next year’s Royal Rumble will be the first of WWE’s “Big Four” events to be held in Saudi Arabia.WrestleMania is already the most important date on the wrestling calendar, and this announcement marks a significant moment in our partnership with WWE.
