Survivor Series: WarGames: An Event Full of Surprises and Unexpected Twists
The Survivor Series: WarGames event last Saturday left fans with more questions than answers, but it certainly offered entertainment and creativity. The surprise return of Liv Morgan, the mysterious figure who helped Team Vision win the men’s WarGames match, and AJ Lee’s victory over Becky Lynch in the women’s WarGames match were some of the key moments.
Who is the mysterious man?
The biggest question mark after Survivor Series is the identity of the person who interfered in the men’s WarGames match. At the end of the fight, an individual dressed completely in black and with a hood went up to the cage and applied a superkick and a stomp to CM Punk. These moves were reminiscent of Seth Rollins, who is out with a shoulder injury, but it seems to be a false lead. It is likely that it is a competitor from the past. Could it be Randy Orton, absent for two months? Or maybe Austin Theory, out of action since July? Even a bold speculation could point to Chris Jericho from AEW, who would cause an earthquake in the wrestling world with his return to WWE for the first time since 2018. Whoever it is, his revelation will be a great moment, given the way Survivor Series ended.
Bron Breakker Finishes Men’s WarGames Match
After the mysterious man’s attack, Breakker applied a spear and got the count on Punk. The match began with a face-off between Punk and Breakker, which seemed like a preview of a future world title match between the two. This idea was consolidated when Breakker defeated Punk and won the match for his team. Although Logan Paul had a great performance for Team Vision (including a double suplex with Drew McIntyre on Punk and a biceps pose in the air followed by a kip-up), it was Breakker who got the count, which says a lot. Although Paul could be a future world champion, after Survivor Series, it seems that Breakker could be Punk’s next challenger.
Dominik Mysterio Wins Back the Intercontinental Championship
In a match full of unexpected twists, Mysterio regained the Intercontinental Championship by defeating John Cena. “Dirty Dom” resorted to all sorts of tricks, including faking a shoulder injury that forced referee Chad Patton to call for the medics, setting up Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez’s attack on Cena. Then, Dom reappeared as if nothing had happened, but the referee refused to make the count, allowing the match to continue. Dom also imitated Eddie Guerrero’s tactics at WrestleMania XX against Kurt Angle by loosening his boot, which caused Cena to remove it when trying to apply the STF. The ending was brilliant: Liv Morgan returned, slapped Dom, and then hugged Cena. In a reference to Cena’s character change in March, Morgan’s expression went from joy to coldness, followed by a kick to Cena’s groin, allowing Dom to win the match. Dom regained the Intercontinental Championship and is back with Morgan. It was a very entertaining and great victory for Dom, who has competed in three of Cena’s last four matches, a huge achievement.
Stephanie Vaquer defends her title
Vaquer defeated Nikki Bella to retain the Women’s World Championship, and it was the right decision. Bella is a WWE Hall of Famer and deserves recognition, but Vaquer is the present and the future. Vaquer has many challengers, many of whom participated in the WarGames match.
AJ Lee Shines at WarGames
In the women’s WarGames match, Lee achieved a submission victory over Becky Lynch with the Black Widow, which could lead to a singles match between the two, hopefully at WrestleMania. Iyo Sky (with a trash can branded with Iyo Sky) starred in the moment of the match, and perhaps of the night, by jumping from the cage with the trash can over her opponents. Lash Legend had a great performance, demonstrating her dominance upon entering the match. The former WNBA and college basketball player has great potential. Charlotte Flair’s attire was inspired by Scarlett, 7, who has a brain tumor. A truly elegant gesture by the WWE superstar.
