Celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the United States: An Unprecedented Sporting Alliance

The White House has formalized a historic collaboration with Fanatics, America250 (a bipartisan group created by Congress), and major U.S. sports leagues to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary. This agreement involves MLB, MLS, NASCAR, NBA, NFL, and NHL, as well as UFC and WWE, promising a series of commemorative events and products throughout the year. The initiative will include the USA 250 badge and logo on uniforms and sports equipment that will be used at key events throughout the year. Next weekend’s Super Bowl will be one of the first venues, with photos of New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks jerseys already revealed, sporting the patches.

Fanatics will also be in charge of creating commemorative fan apparel for the champion teams, which will bear the celebration logo. Initially, an official presentation was planned at the Oval Office of the White House on Tuesday, but the event was postponed due to the winter storm Fern. As of now, a new date has not been confirmed. The event was expected to be attended by key sports leaders, such as NFL commissioner Roger Goodell; NBA commissioner Adam Silver; and MLB commissioner Rob Manfred.
