Vince McMahon Involved in Car Accident in Connecticut

Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon was involved in a car accident on a Connecticut highway, resulting in damage to his Bentley and two other vehicles. The incident occurred hours before the news of the death of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, whom McMahon had publicly praised, was announced. According to a state police report, McMahon was cited for reckless driving and following another vehicle too closely. The accident took place Thursday morning on the Merritt Parkway in Westport. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. McMahon was released after posting a $500 bond and was ordered to appear in Stamford Superior Court on August 26. The incident was initially reported by a specialized media outlet.
Vince McMahon's 2024 Bentley Continental GT Speed sustained heavy front-end damage from last week's multi-car highway crash in Connecticut.
The photographs taken by Barbara Doran, one of the people involved in the accident, revealed significant damage to the front of McMahon’s 2024 Bentley Continental GT Speed, which was being towed in Westport. The images also showed damage to the rear of Doran’s BMW 430. The police report details that McMahon was driving north on the highway, also known as Route 15, when he collided from behind with the BMW and crashed into a wooden barrier. A vehicle traveling in the opposite direction hit the debris from the accident that flew over the barrier. According to the authorities, there were no passengers in any of the vehicles and all three drivers were wearing seatbelts. McMahon’s car airbags deployed, while Doran’s did not. Doran, a New York City resident, recounted that he was in the right lane when the impact occurred. The collision caused his car to leave the road.

I was in the right lane and suddenly, boom. I was hit from behind and catapulted forward and you can see the tire marks where I was desperately trying to stay on the road.

Doran also mentioned that a state police officer informed him that the other driver was McMahon, whom he didn’t know very well. After the accident, they both talked.

He just, you know, expressed concern, was glad I was okay and all that. And I thanked him for his concern.

McMahon resigned as WWE CEO in 2022, amid a company investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct. Last year, he also stepped down as executive chairman of the board of directors of TKO Group Holdings, WWE’s parent company, one day after a former WWE employee filed a sexual assault lawsuit against him. McMahon has denied the allegations. The lawsuit is ongoing. McMahon acquired the then World Wrestling Federation in 1982, transforming it from a regional wrestling company into a global phenomenon.
